Hi, I’m Lisa Dunn, author of The Chasmaria Chronicles.  I write for young adults, but several grown ups have fallen in love with Chasmaria, too. I think that’s because I’m all about facing life’s messiness head on and reveling in its perfectly imperfect beauty. I’m currently working on a Young Adult Contemporary series and toying with a non-fiction idea that might or might not pan out. Time alone will tell.

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. Please,  make yourself at home.

My home is located in a small southern town. My husband, who in my head will always be the boy who made me laugh, and I are doing our very best to raise our four marvelous children. We have a slew of outdoor cats, though only one is technically ours, and a shelter-rescued boxer mix who sticks closer than my shadow. When I’m not actively writing – any author will tell you she never really stops writing, even if it’s only in her head – I homeschool the above-mentioned children. I recently added Editor to my many hats, but you can click on the Editor tab to learn more about that. My life is a series of beautiful messes.

Photo on 12-22-14 at 3.37 PM - Version 2An introvert at heart, I’m most comfortable in cozy groups with intimate conversations about the things that matter most. Life, death, love, loss. Redemption.

I participate in my local SCWA critique group and thoroughly enjoy speaking with young writers.

Every so often, I post writerly news and random thoughts to Twitter (@AuthorLisaDunn) and Facebook (Author Lisa Dunn). You can find my books online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

      1. I was looking for Angelique to show my granddaughter, Ula. She read Book one and liked it and wants to read the others, so I guess I’d better get them. I’m trying to remember the name of your blog. Girl with now name, I think. Off to google.

  1. Hi Lisa, I’ve missed you guys at SCWA meetings. Been busy getting Dark Corner of War ready to send out into the world via CreateSpace. Will have a formal announcement soon. Good luck with your new book. I look forward to reading it. Love that picture of you. It’s so beautiful and natural. Happy Mother’s Day. Donna

  2. Just got a moment in my whirlwind life. I’ve not deleted your message because I knew I’d find a moment to share with you. I love your honesty and humility. What I find fascinating is the contrast I know about you. You are a talented and an important voice in writing. My friend, you are an AUTHOR! See you at critique group.
